So you want to be #1 in Google results? Lets first cover the 2 main ways this is done: Skip it!, I want to be #1 NOW
Your website is just a digital brochure until you tell someone to go there. Being #1 on Google turns your website into a lead generation machine. We pride ourselves in not getting too technical, but feel the need to explain what being #1 on Google requires and how much value it can add to your website.
Search engine optimization (SEO) (how you get to #1 on Google) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”)search results, (or #1 on Google). Other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings. In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search[1], news search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a website web presence.
As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. (#1 on Google) Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.
Search engine marketing, (SEM), is a form of Internet marketing that seeks to promote websites by increasing their visibility in search engine result pages (becoming #1 on Google) (SERPs) through the use of, paid placement, contextual advertising, and paid inclusion.[1][2] It should be asserted that SEM is NOT SEO and vice versa, (but both get you to #1 on Google). SEM constitutes article submissions, advertising and making sure SEO has been done. Also, key word analysis needs to be done for both SEO and SEM; but not necessarily at the same time. Being #1 on Google via SEM is a constant and tedious task. It frequently needs to be updated and monitored continually. Another part of SEM is Social Media Marketing (SMM). SMM is a type of marketing that involves exploiting social media to influence consumers that one company’s products and/or services are valuable.[5]
